Got an opinion about the new Mira Costa High School gym? Parents and community members are invited to join school district representatives and the architectural team from Gensler for a "pre-design visioning work session" to talk about plans for the new facility.
The open house will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Mira Costa High School New Theater. The format will be a two hour meet-and-greet during which residents are welcome to drop in and talk with the architects, learn more about the project, and share more about their individual needs, desires, and concerns relating to the construction.

The discussion is expected to cover site access, building uses, and schedule and budget issues. The ideas that come up during the discussion will be integrated into the design process and shared at later meetings.
A similar meeting, for MB|X booster groups, will be held the previous night, on April 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
An MBUSD Board workshop is scheduled for the evening of April 26 for the Gensler architects to share what they learned from the open houses and other focus groups.
The new Mira Costa gym facility construction is part of a package of two bond measures, Measures C and EE, to improve and update facilities at Manhattan Beach schools. Voters approved the bond measures in November 2016.
