Manhattan Beach Students Excel in Math Kangaroo Competition

On March 19, 2026, the MBMS Math Club hosted the Math Kangaroo exam at Manhattan Beach Middle School. Nearly 100 MBUSD students participated in the global competition, joining more than 60,500 students nationwide and over 6 million students worldwide.
The exam took place at Manhattan Beach Middle School, where students completed a 75-minute multiple-choice test. Students in grades 1–4 answered 24 questions, while students in grades 5 and above completed 30 questions. The highest possible scores are 96 points for grades 1–4 and 120 points for upper grade levels.
Math Kangaroo is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring a love of mathematics in students through creative, logic-based problem solving that encourages students to strengthen their critical thinking skills while building confidence and enthusiasm for math.
